Poor little bird with a hurt foot
For the past 2 years, I see her frequently but I've been unable to catch her. I can't tell if she has anything around her foot but I think not. The last few months, I've noticed that she has started to use the foot for balance.

Maidenhair Fern Growing On A Rock
We used to have a bird's nest fern on a rock. It grew reasonably well until earlier this year when its leaves started to turn brown & wither. They all, gradually, died. This what the bird's nest fern looked likewhen we first bought it.
