Lettuce will grow in the Philippines

Pictures of a home farm connected to an orphanage in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Not SFG, but adaptable for hot weather areas. Excess is sold to local resturants to help support the orphanage.

What interested me was the shade cloth over the lettuce and spinach and the fact that tomatos were being grown in a shadehouse.

so, the lettuce in my raised beds are getting bitter as the weather gets hotter. so should i just pull it all and wait til it cools down to plant more? or plant something in its place? ideas?

How many times are you getting to cut your lettuce.. [pinch off tops or cut to eat] do you guys get before you plant is done? I have some so far I have cut four or five times.. have you found there a cut off to just pull up and replant? Thank you
