Whole Wheat Apple Bread

This is a quick bread (i.e., no yeast involved.) I just tried it for the first time this morning, and oh boy, it's good! I have enough apples left over that I'm going for batch #2! I may try to hit it with just a little cloves... but it's really delicious as-is.

From Penzeys’ Harvest 2009; Recipe by Ruth Weber. Makes 2 loaves.

1 c vegetable oil (not olive)
2 c sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
3 cups whole wheat fl

Has anyone tried to grow wheat in SFG? I'm just curious because I saw a video on youtube about this guy who was growing just about everything in his back yard from veggies to grains to medicinal herbs and I thought that was a cool idea.
Every recipe I read says "It's SO EASY!" OK so where do I buy the grains? I'm so confused about this but I want to give this a shot.

I've been asked if it is OK to put moldy bread in their compost. I've heard you shouldn't even put bread in because of the eggs. SOOOOOO, opinions please?
Discovered this completely by accident I was making a plain sponge when I noticed we had a big cooking apple that was looking lonely so I cored it and chopped it into very small chunks, and then for kicks I put into the sponge mixture 3 very large
