What eats Sunflowers?

I planted sunflowers Thursday, they were all chewed up with only the stem left 24 hours later!


Anyone know what eats Sunflowers? I sprinkled some Seven around the area, mainly b/c they aren't for consumption, just for looks, so the ch

Has anyone planted Sunflowers in their SFG before? I'm not seeing anything the book or website about planting them -- the seed packet says thin seedling to 12-18 inches, does that mean I can do one per square or do I have to expand to 1.5 squares per
Others have posted photos of their sunflowers, so I thought I'd post some of mine, even though they're in the ground rather than a square foot bed. These are not actual sunflowers, but rather tithonia or Mexican sunflowers. They love heat and humidity
