Help found wild pigeon very sick can't walk,but moves wings head covered in ticks.

Found injured wild pigeon still fighting,but very sick.No sign of blood,not walking,moves wings.Head covered in ticks how can i get them off,or do i leave them 2 drop off? Put surgical spirit on them with a cotton bud.Have put him in a cage with water in a solid shallow bowl.Put some grass seed & bread crumbs in.Never having had pet birds not sure what to do,feed etc.Perhaps he will not make it thr
