Propane Regulator

I have a 08 QBBS.
I have two propane regulators on my trailer. One is the main regulator (with switch to change tanks)in the right propane compartment The other regulator is in the left propane compartment and has no controls. The propane bottle feeds into that regulator and then the line goes from that regulator to the main reg with switches. Does anybody have this setup with two regulators? Why?
All the trailers I have looked at have only one

We use butane gas bottles with our Dandy but as we are going to camp all season are wondering if propane would be better. I have heard that butane can be a problem in cold weather and I think up to now we have just been lucky and not had any problems.
