lifeguard filter

so today i got a filter from lifeguard its a chemical/mechanical filter out of tank for $6 Laughing brand new at petco i was wandering if it can handle bio filtration if not can i hook it up to a undergravel filter plate and can it be hooked up to multiple tanks if so how?
