Whats the best beginner tarantula to buy him...

For his birthday on the 10th of may Im going to make him leave the house all day until 7:30
My excuse will be I want to clean and cook him a lavish dinner without him knowing what it is. One of our friends will take the day off work to have him at his. We will then have a story that he will come back here with him as his dad will pick him up and he going home *the friend*
